At Scotia Square dentistry in Edmonton, we use dental crowns to repair teeth that cannot be fixed with a standard dental filling

What Are Dental Crowns?

A crown is a tooth-coloured, custom-made covering that encases the entire tooth surface, thereby restoring its proper shape and size. Crowns protect and strengthen teeth that cannot be restored with fillings or other types of restorations. Crowns are used to repair teeth that have large, fractured or broken fillings and also for those that are badly decayed, chipped or cracked.

Dental Crown FAQs

Will my porcelain crown be noticeable?

We will design, shape and colour your crown to match as closely as possible to your natural teeth.

How long do dental crowns last?

If taken care of properly (as outlined above), dental crowns can last for many, many years.

Do dental crowns require special care?

Take care of your dental crowns the same way you take care of your natural teeth. That means regular brushing and flossing, twice-yearly visits to the dentist for cleanings and checkups, and taking care not to bite down on hard objects, or open packaging with your teeth.
